Om 9:30 ontvingen wij het bericht dat beide datacenters volledig onbereikbaar waren. Het probleem is ondertussen verholpen.

The cause found: a global (national) error at the Amsterdam Internet Exchange, AMS-IX. All AMS-IX members are effected. The two AMS-IX route servers RS1 and RS2 where continuously sending us incorrect malformed AS_PATH BGP information. This caused our Cisco routers BGP false route information that led to other BGP routes from other carriers to problems. After this problem was found we disconnected the AMS-IX BGP session and contacted the AMS-IX NOC. They told us the still have the problems and they sent out this message to all AMS-IX members:

We are currently seeing a lot of malformed AS_PATH errors on RS1 and RS2, causing BGP sessions to fail.

AMS-IX NOC is troubleshooting this issue and will send updates as soon as we have any news.
